Grape Harvest Festival

The Grape Harvest Festival is held annually on the second weekend of October. Although the village has no vineyards, only small grape trellises in people’s gardens, the history of this event goes back for decades. At 13.00 o’clock, a parade starts at the community center. Dressed in traditional costumes, boys horseback-riding, girls singing on a horse-drawn carriage decorated with pine: this is how they march through the village. A young man riding a donkey, and dressed in rags accompanies them and invites people to the ball in the evening.  The ball starts at 21.00 in the community center, the ceiling of which is decorated with pine branches and grapes. The young people guard the grapes during the night, but after midnight “stealing” is allowed.
